Definitions

  • Item/items: Any cargo or mail transported by us.
  • Our service/services: Our same-day pickup and delivery service.

General

  • Our business and website are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.
  • All measurements are in metric
  • All prices are in Canadian Dollars
  • We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service to rude or abusive customers
  • We reserve the right to refuse, terminate, or delay service if we suspect a situation to be unsafe.
  • We cannot guarantee the availability of our services.
  • By placing an order with us, you agree to let us contact you and the sender/recipient of the item regarding your order by email, call, or text via the information you provide us. we will not send you promotional material, newsletters, or anything like that.
  • Electronic payment for our services is due within 7 days of the invoice being issued. Cash payment is due immediately on pickup/delivery.
  • Our site contains links to third-party sites that we do not own or control. we are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services linked to on our site. it is your responsibility to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of these third party websites before using these sites.

Limitation of Liability and Indemnity

  • Interceptor Courier and its owner will not be liable for any actions, losses, claims, damages, liabilities and expenses, including legal fees, from your use of this site.
  • Except where prohibited by law, by using this site you indemnify and hold harmless Interceptor Courier and its owner from any actions, losses, claims, damages, liabilities and expenses, including legal fees, from your use of this site or your violation of these terms and conditions.

Accepted cargo

We currently can not accept the following cargo types:

  • Alcohol/Cannabis/Tobacco
  • Dangerous goods
  • Frozen/refrigerated goods

We accept all other cargo types.

Loss and damage

  • All items transported by our service are insured against loss or damage for up to $20,000 of declared value while in our care. We will not be held liable for any items costing above that amount, or any damages or losses above the declared value.
  • If the declared value section of an ordering form is left blank, your items will be insured for the default amount of $25.00
  • We are not liable for any damage or loss that occurs after delivery is confirmed.
  • All items will be inspected for damage upon pickup. we are not liable for any damage to items with preexisting damage to the item or it’s packaging.

Confirmation of delivery

  • We will always ensure that items are either left in a secure location, or received by the correct individual.
  • We will take a picture and/or obtain a name to confirm safe delivery.
  • We will only leave an item in a non-secure location (E.G. on a doorstep) at the request of the customer. We are not liable for any loss/damage that occurs after delivery is confirmed.

Delivering on time

All our orders will be delivered by 5:00 PM (1700). we will generally offer a full refund for failed deliveries due to a mistake/failure on our part, but we will not be held responsible for late/failed deliveries due to factors outside our control, including but not limited to:

  • Traffic conditions
  • Weather conditions
  • Unexpected road closures
  • A safe location to leave the item or a person to receive it being unavailable/inaccessible

Privacy

General

  • Your use of our service and the contents and destinations of any items will be kept private and confidential, and will only be disclosed if required to do so by law.
  • We consider all envelopes, packages, and sealed containers to be private and will never open or otherwise tamper with them in any way. Any damage that could cause a breach of privacy will be reported immediately.
  • We will always keep your items in a locked vehicle, on our person, or in a direct line-of-sight for safety.
  • We will NEVER sell your information.

Information you provide us

We will always collect the following information when you place an order:

  • The addresses and names of the individuals/businesses we are picking up from and dropping off to
  • The phone number and email address of the individual/business placing the order

We will also collect the following information if you choose to provide it to us:

  • Contact information for the individual/business sending/receiving the order
  • Any special instructions for delivery
  • Any additional information that may be important for a successful delivery

How we use/store this information:

  • We will use this information in order to provide our services, communicate with the customer/sender/recipient regarding their order, and issue invoices.
  • Addresses, names, and contact information will be processed by WooDelivery and may be stored temporarily as a physical note or a plain text document on one of our computers/phones in order to provide our services. these files/notes stored by us will be deleted or destroyed at the end of the work week.
  • Addresses, names, and contact information of regular customers may be stored permanently to aid in expedient service with direct permission only.
  • We will only disclose this information if required to do so by law, or to settle a legal dispute between our service and a customer.

Information that is collected automatically

Correspondence:

  • Call history and text message correspondence are stored automatically by our company phones. This information may be stored on our phones internal storage indefinitely.
  • Emails received or sent by our business email may be stored indefinitely.
  • Our business email is provided by google workspace, and is not stored directly by us. their privacy policy is available here: Privacy Policy – Privacy & Terms – Google

Correspondence between us and our customers will be kept private and confidential, and will only be disclosed if required to do so by law, or to settle a legal dispute between our service and a customer.

Dashboard camera footage:

Our vehicles are equipped with dashboard cameras, primarily in order to guard against insurance scams and theft/vandalism. whenever our vehicles electrical systems are powered on, or the camera’s motion sensor is activated, these cameras will be collecting:

  • Video from the front seat’s point of view
  • Audio
  • GPS co-ordinates
  • Date and time

Due to the nature of our business, these dashboard cameras may record video/audio of any phone calls or conversations that occur in or nearby the vehicle, as well as footage and location data of the people and locations that we provide our services to.

This data will be stored temporarily in the camera’s internal memory, and will be overwritten as new information is recorded. Usually, all data will be completely overwritten within two business days.

This data will only be stored permanently or disclosed in order to:

  • Prove our case in the event of a traffic accident.
  • Prove our case in the event of an unfairly issued traffic or parking ticket.
  • Prove our case in the event of an attempted scam.
  • Provide evidence to law enforcement in the event of theft, vandalism, “hit-and-run” accidents, or other crimes.

Information that we collect

Proof of delivery

We will record the name of the individual that receives an item, and/or take a picture of an item once delivered to confirm safe delivery. this information will be processed and stored by our Woodelivery software.

Proof of pre-existing damage

If a package/letter/piece of cargo has pre-existing damage on pickup, we will generally take a picture of the damaged item in order to enforce our terms of service pertinent to loss and damage. This information may be stored on one of our company phones for up to 7 days.

this information will only be disclosed:

  • To the customer who made the order
  • In order to settle a legal dispute between our service and a customer
  • If required to do so by law
